What data is handled
Selminha.com has no login, no sign-up and no user account. Nobody has to give a name, an email or anything else to play. What gets stored comes from three situations, all of them started by you:
When you rate a game
What is stored: the 1-to-5 rating, which game it was, the date, and an anonymous identifier created by your browser — that is what keeps the same vote from being counted twice. A scrambled summary (a hash) of your internet address goes with it; the original address cannot be recovered from it, and it is there only to keep abuse in check.
When you save a score
What is stored: the name you pick (up to 10 letters), the points, the game, the date, the same anonymous identifier and the summary of the address. The leaderboard name is public: pick a nickname and do not use personal details, yours or anyone else's.
When you write through the contact form
What is stored: the name and email you give, the subject you pick, the text of the message, the date and the summary of the address. Each message opens a support case with its own code (SEL-1042, for example), and every reply exchanged afterwards — ours and yours — is kept in that same case, so the conversation has a history. Replies go to the email you gave, and come back to the site's inbox when you answer.
What is not collected
There is no collection of location, contact lists, payment details, browsing profiles or any information coming from other sites. The site also has no advertising and no audience measurement.
02
Local storage and outside services
What is stored in your browser is what the site needs to work without a sign-up: the anonymous identifier and the list of ratings you have given, so the page can show your own rating when you come back, plus the list of games you saved under My games. None of it identifies you, none of it is sent to the site and none of it goes to anyone else.
My games
When you tap the heart on a game, that game's address is kept in your own browser. The list is not an account: it stays on that device, disappears if you clear your browser data, and does not show up on another device by itself. The link button is there so you can take the list to another device yourself, and the site neither stores nor receives that link.
No cookies and no trackers
The site uses no advertising cookies, has no analytics, has no social network pixel and loads no tracking scripts. Fonts, images, styles and code are all served by the site's own server — including the game files.
Where it is hosted
The site, the database and the support inbox sit with a hosting company contracted for that purpose. When a support reply is sent, it passes through that host's email server and through the email provider you use.
If that changes
The arrival of any audience measurement, advertising or outside service will be described here before it starts working, including what is collected and by whom.
03
Purposes and retention periods
| Data | What for | For how long |
|---|---|---|
| Rating, anonymous identifier and address summary | Building the leaderboard and preventing repeat votes | While the game is in the catalog |
| Leaderboard name and score | Showing the game's high score list | While the game is in the catalog; the list may be reset after a failure, a rules change or fraud |
| Contact message and support replies | Answering you and keeping the history of the case | While the case is still useful as a reference, or until you ask for removal |
| Emails in the site's inbox | Filing your reply in the right support case | Archived and deleted from the inbox after 30 days; the text stays in the case |
| Technical server logs | Security and running the hosting | As set by the hosting company that operates the servers |
Why the address summary exists
It makes it possible to limit votes and messages coming from the same place in a short window, which is the protection against bots and message floods. Because it is a scrambled summary, there is no way back to the original address and no way to work out who it belongs to.
04
Requests and contact
You can ask for access to, correction of, or removal of data connected to you: a score on a leaderboard, a rating, or a support conversation.
How to ask
Use the Contact page and pick the subject Privacy. To find the right record, say what should be removed and, for a score, which game and which name you used.
Timing
Requests are answered through support itself, with a code and a history, within the periods set by Brazil's data protection law (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados). We do not promise a shorter deadline than we can keep.
An honest caveat
Because there is no sign-up, the site has no way to confirm that someone is the author of a score or a rating. Removal requests are handled on the basis of the information you give to identify the record.
