In every Selminha game: P to pause · M to toggle sound · SPACE or tap to startAbout Mines: Ruby or Boom?
This is the Mines you find in casinos, with the same multiplier math as the real thing, set in the Queen of Hearts' vault chamber. The board has 25 gold tiles, and behind each one is a ruby or a mine, a little spade-shaped bomb. You pick your bet, from $1 to $100, and how many mines you want to face, from 1 to 24: more mines mean more risk and a bigger prize for every ruby. Every ruby raises the multiplier, and CASH OUT pays your bet times the multiplier at that moment; a mine ends the round, and the house keeps your bet. If you find every ruby or reach the 10,000× cap, you cash out automatically; find every ruby and the Queen's vault swings open. RANDOM flips a tile for you, and AUTO plays 5, 10, 25 or 50 rounds with the tiles you mark. Before each round you see the seal, the SHA-256 hash of the seed that places the mines; at the end, VERIFY shows they never moved. You start with $1,000 in play money, and END THE NIGHT, in the pause menu, posts your balance to the TOP 5 leaderboard. It's a demo-mode game made purely for entertainment: none of the amounts are real, and every win or loss is fictional.
In Selminha's words
“Mines is the easiest casino game to understand and one of the most nerve-racking to play: every tile could be one more ruby or the end of the round, and when to stop is entirely up to you. I wanted that rush inside the Queen's vault: gold tiles that flip in 3D, rubies that shine, mines that burst in purple and a multiplier climbing right in front of you, with the odds for the next tile shown alongside. For first-timers, the panel shows what the next ruby pays and how likely it is; and for the skeptics, the seal proves the mines never move once the round starts.”
How to play Mines and what each ruby pays
- Set your bet and the number of mines with the − and + on the tray: from $1 to $100 and from 1 to 24 mines.
- Tap or click PLAY: the bet comes out of your balance, and the mines are hidden behind the tiles, exactly where the seal says.
- Flip tiles with a tap or a click. Every ruby raises the multiplier; a mine ends the round, and the house keeps your bet.
- After your first ruby, CASH OUT pays your bet times the current multiplier. The panel shows the next multiplier and the chance that the next tile is a ruby.
- RANDOM flips a tile for you. In AUTO, choose how many rounds, mark the tiles and press START: each round, AUTO flips those tiles and cashes out if they're all rubies.
- The "?" at the top opens HOW TO PLAY. In the pause menu, END THE NIGHT locks in your balance and posts it to the TOP 5 leaderboard.
A demo-mode game
- Just for fun
- Mines is a demo-mode game made purely for entertainment. None of the amounts are real: the dollars are play money, and every win or loss is fictional. You never bet or win real money here.
What each ruby pays
- How to read it
- The multiplier already includes your bet: 1.50× means $10 becomes $15.
- The math
- The multiplier is 0.97 divided by the chance of getting that far without hitting a mine, rounded down to two decimal places: the game returns 97% of what's bet.
- 1 mine
- 1 ruby: 1.01× · 10 rubies: 1.61× · 20 rubies: 4.85× · all 24 rubies: 24.25×.
- 3 mines
- 1 ruby: 1.10× · 3 rubies: 1.44× · 5 rubies: 1.95× · 10 rubies: 4.90× · 15 rubies: 18.59× · all 22 rubies: 2,231.00×.
- 5 mines
- 1 ruby: 1.21× · 3 rubies: 1.95× · 5 rubies: 3.32× · 10 rubies: 17.16× · 15 rubies: 204.50× · all 20 rubies: the 10,000× cap.
- 10 mines
- 1 ruby: 1.61× · 2 rubies: 2.77× · 3 rubies: 4.90× · 5 rubies: 17.16× · 10 rubies: 1,055.84× · the 12th ruby reaches the 10,000× cap, and you cash out automatically.
- 24 mines
- The only ruby pays 24.25×.
The rules at this table

- Cashing out
- Any time after your first ruby: your bet times the multiplier at that moment.
- The cap
- The top prize for a round is 10,000 times your bet; when you reach it, you cash out automatically.
- Finding every ruby
- You cash out automatically, and the Queen's vault swings open.
Controls on phone and computer
- Computer
- Tap or click the tiles · SPACE plays and cashes out · A flips a random tile · − and + change the bet · ESC pauses · M turns the sound on and off
- Touch
- On a phone, it's played upright in full screen: the multiplier panel up top, the 25-tile board across the screen and the tray with the buttons near your thumb. On a tablet the game adapts to the way you hold it and never asks you to rotate; on a computer it's played in landscape, with the panel beside the board and the tray below.
A fair game
- The seal
- Before each round you see the seal: the SHA-256 hash of the seed that places the mines.
- VERIFY
- At the end of the round the seed is revealed, and VERIFY checks it against the seal: the mines never moved.
- Tested in simulation
- The 97% return, the math behind every multiplier and the even spread of mines across the 25 tiles all checked out.
Your night in the vault
- Balance
- You start with $1,000 in play money; when your balance no longer covers the smallest bet, the night ends automatically.
- END THE NIGHT
- Ends the night and posts your balance to the site's TOP 5 leaderboard. You'll find it in the pause menu.
- AUTO
- 5, 10, 25 or 50 rounds with the tiles you mark; a win that sets off a celebration pauses AUTO until you press START.
- The vault's music
- "Heavy Heist" by bertsz (CC0).
